Peter Widmer is a Zen teacher (Sensei), philosopher, author and founder of Zen-integral and achtsameselbstentwicklung (mindfulselfdevelopment).

He has practiced Zen since 1982 and is a Zen teacher in the Glassman-Lassalle Zen lineage since 2004. From 1998 to 2025 he worked as Zen teacher and seminar leader at the Lassalle-Haus and the Lassalle-Institut for Zen, Ethics & Leadership in Switzerland and other institutions.

His work integrates developmental psychology, contemplative practice, integral thinking, parts work and embodied awareness. He is the creator of the “Inner Peace Conference”, an original approach to parts work and inner integration.

He is also the developer of the Intensive Body Awareness Practice (IBAP), a structured embodied awareness practice integrating movement, interoceptive awareness and contemplative meditation. A pilot research design investigating the effects of IBAP on stress regulation, wellbeing and body awareness is currently in preparation.

Peter Widmer has taught and worked at various universities and educational institutions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He is certified in SCTi-MAP assessment and coaching and collaborates with Cook-Greuter & Partners.
